Absinthe
 
The title emerged from the after images and offset shapes and colors perceived after one steps out of the bright sunlight  into the shade. It's all about the mood, the refreshing green glass of an absinthe soda bottle glimmers in the low sun on the threshold of the "Heure Bleue." A promise of a Hawaiian rain shower at the end of a long day.

This composition is a mixture of acrylic paint sketches elements and photographs which are later composed digitally.
Because of the obvious possibilities of color relationship and subtleties that simply do not exist in traditional painting techniques, the digital media is the only method that would warrant this type of image.
Being one of the earliest traditional painter having embraced the digital media, "Image de Synthese," I have worked with it not as a medium used to emulate techniques of the past, but on the contrary as a medium that has surpassed these techniques and opened the door to new horizons of artistic expression.
