The Venus of Future - Original cover art for the 1988 issue of Omni Magazine
In the year 2088, the integration of man and machine had given birth to Ariane, the Venus of the Future. Ariane is the fusion of classical beauty and futuristic technology.
Her eyes, hidden behind intricate goggles, see beyond the stars and map the cosmos with a mere glance. Her mechanical heart hums with the rhythm of a thousand gears. She safeguards knowledge, she guides humanity into the unknown, and above the ultramarine dome of her helmet, a distant Earth reminds all of their origins.
As the world around her evolves, blending nature with technology, Ariane is the light to attain in the harmonious future envisioned back in 1988.
In 1988, this visual discourse, with which I expressed myself in my illustrative works, came to represent the ideals of modern technology as a cultural renaissance, embodying a hopeful and forward-looking vision of humanity's evolution.
Beyond OMNI this image of The Venus of the Future, had many other uses.
(see attached).
Soon after, I made a copy of the same painting, a second original painting which I extended for use as an album cover image for the band “China Sky,” for CBS records.
